Prompt: Holiday Season Edition

Write a character sketch of someone who was born on Christmas Day.

Your character is an atheist who grew up in an extremely conservative Christian family.  Your character has yet to tell his or her family.  Now it’s Christmas Day.  What happens next?  (Feel free to change the religion and holiday depending on your own faith or for your story’s purposes.)

What if it was illegal to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or indeed any holiday at all?

Create your own holiday—complete with customs, rituals, and a history behind it.  Now write a scene where people are celebrating it.

I did not have a chance to do this, but it is an excellent prompt. I was married to an atheist and I came from a Christian family. It made the tradition of attending Christmas Ever services uncomfortable and interesting.
